For months, the documentary A Radiant Country – With the Geiger Counter Through Germany was not shown in cinemas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a long pause, a successful start to 2022 took place on Sunday, January 23: The Gloria Cinema in Heidelberg screened A Radiant Country as a special presentation during prime time on Sunday afternoon. The event was partnered by the association Ökostadt Rhein-Neckar.

Despite the current COVID situation, 21 visitors gathered in the traditional Heidelberg arthouse cinema and asked me many interested questions during the subsequent film discussion. The local press, which reported on the event, was also present.


A Radiant Country also addresses a shopping center in Ludwigshafen-Rheingönheim, not far from Heidelberg. Elevated radioactivity was detected on the premises of this heavily frequented shopping center.
