Marvin Oppong (*1982) is working as a freelance journalist and lecturer in Bonn. His publications focus on corruption, lobbyism, data protection and media-related topics. He specialises in German legal provisions on the freedom of information, data journalism and internet research tools.

Marvin Oppong’s articles were published by the news magazines SPIEGEL and stern, the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, the daily newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau and FINANCIAL TIMES DEUTSCHLAND, the news portal SPIEGEL ONLINE and other media. The NDR and WDR TV channels covered his research in their programme.

Since 2011 Marvin Oppong has been providing training as a lecturer for research techniques at institutions for journalistic training.
